December is an important time in the Iyengar Community. The Birthdays of Geetaji Iyengar on December 7, 1944 and B.K.S. Iyengar on Dec 14, 1918 are celebrated worldwide.  Many Iyengar Yoga Certified Teachers and practitioners travel to RIMYI in Pune, India to honor the occasion each year. On December 16,  2018 Geetaji passed away just two days after finishing teaching at her father’s centenary event.  There are many events held through December by regional and national associations worldwide visit IYNAUS (Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States) for more information.
