How do we let go of judgements and come closer to acceptance? When can we move past self-comparison with others and reach self-understanding? Can we recall a time when we attempted a yoga pose that felt impossible? We did it and our posture did not look like the demonstration? What was the reaction? Sometimes those feelings that arise aren’t always comfortable. It’s important when beginning a yoga journey to know it’s the start not the end. Infinite possibilities lay ahead. B.K.S. Iyengar wrote in Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, “Practice must be pursued with trust, confidence, vigor, keen memory, and power of absorption to break this spiritual complacency.” This was the english translation of Yoga Sutra I.20 and is great source of wisdom and inspiration to continue our practice.
