Yoga uses the elements of earth, water, air, fire, and ether. When our body is in contact with earth it is said to have the earth element. As our bodies loosen up through practice and more fluidity comes, this phenomenon is mentioned to as if one has the water element present. Fire can be present when we have a lot of sensation from holding a pose for a while. Having willpower and conviction are also linked to being fiery. When our limbs are in space and not grounded to the earth, they have the air element. Ether is when we are completely submerged into a pose and it feels like we have blended in with the ether.
