Lotus

In the honor of May flowers this month let us consider the blossom well known in the Iyengar Yoga Tradition the Lotus. The Lotus has its own posture, the Lotus Pose in Sanskrit known as Padmasana. This asana requires a lot of hip flexibility and deep knee bending capabilities in the body. It is important to work with a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher to help guide you in a safe and healthy manner.  For some Padamasana comes easily for others it is a lifelong challenge to obtain and maintain this advanced posture.
